Carbon Trust Research Landscape Study
The Carbon Trust commissioned a study to build a fact base on research activity in the UK and abroad for a range of low carbon technologies. The aim of the study was to identify a set of (early stage) research topics with high potential for generating the intellectual property required to underpin the commercial development of new low carbon technologies.
High priorities for Carbon Trust involvementActive support from the Carbon Trust is thought to have the potential to accelerate the progress of the technology towards commercialisation.
Lower priorities
Topics to consider for technology accelerators: Carbon Trust programmes to build the knowledge base on existing and emerging technologies, for instance by gaining operational experience and data.
Low priority
The relevance of extra research support will be kept under review in case they become of interest to the Carbon Trust in the future.
